Nassau, Bahamas -  Kendrick David Kemp, the winner of the Male Model Muse Competition at the Islands of the World Fashion Week held in November, 2009, has been selected by the Miss World Bahamas organizers to represent The Bahamas at the Mr. World Competition scheduled to be held on Saturday, 27^th March, in Incheon, South Korea. Mr. Kemp leaves The Bahamas for South Korea on 11^th March to prepare for the final and participate in a number of preliminary events.  

Mr. Kemp won the title of Male Model Muse during the finals of The Muse Model Search Competition as a part of the Islands of the World Fashion Week. He was chosen over eight finalists representing The Bahamas, Barbados, Haiti, St. Kitts & Nevis, and Trinidad & Tobago. The title of Female Model Muse was won by Giovara Gertruida of Curacao...

Nassau, Bahamas - Mode Iles Ltd., organizers of the award-winning Islands of the World Fashion Week, announced that this year an additional feature of the initiative to promote designers from islands around the world and expose them to major international media and markets will be the launch of “ Islands of the World Fashion Tour”, commencing with a runway show stop at Fashion Week El Paseo in Palm Springs, California, on the 24^th March, 2010.

Owen Bethel, President of Mode Iles, indicated that “the Tour is an outgrowth of the original business concept of introducing these talented designers to buyers and trade media in key markets around the world. The second edition of Islands of the World Fashion Week (IWFW) was nothing short of a success. Audiences and critics alike are continually showering the event with rave reviews for high fashion and an exquisitely executed programme. 

Thirteen island designers, representing seven countries put their best foot forward for three days with edgy couture and fantastic accessories as they showcased their 2009/2010 collections.

From the Caribbean, to Canada to China and beyond, IWFW made its mark this year as the premiere event of the season...

Nassau, Bahamas – The organizers of the award-winning Islands of the World Fashion Week, Mode Îles, Ltd., have announced the initial list of participants in this year’s event to be held 4^th – 8^th November at the Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort..

Leading off three days of activities in the fashion-filled air will be The Muse Model Search Competition. Twelve models representing six island nations from the region will compete for the title of Male and Female Model Muse and the opportunity to win $10,000 in cash each and become the face for Islands of the World Fashion Week over the next year.

Nassau, Bahamas - On Saturday, September 19, 2009, in the Arawak Room at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Nassau, Mode lsles Ltd, producers of the award winning Islands of the World Fashion Week, will hold its local casting call for prospective male and female models interested in participating in this year's fashion showcase.

Castings for the fashion event will begin at 9am and run until 4pm. Models attending the casting call are required to bring along a photo portfolio (if one is available), a passport or drivers license photo II), and two change of clothing - one casual, one swimwear...

Recipient of the Culture & Fashion Award was Tami B Designs by Tamiko Browne of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.; 3.Recipient of the NextGen Designer Award was also Tamiko Browne of St. Vincent and the Grenadines; 4. Seals of Excellence were awarded to Heather Jones Designs by Heather Jones of Trinidad & Tobago; Nadya  by Nadine Lurey of Indonesia; BREEZE Resort Couture by Claudia Pegus of Trinidad & Tobago; House of St. John by Jeff St. John of The Bahamas; and Harl Taylor BAG of The Bahamas..

Fashion designer to stars such as Vanessa Williams, Sharon Stone, Katherine Heigl, Felicity Huffman, Ruby Dee, Debra Messing, Angela Bassett, Salma Hayek and Charlize Theron. Kevan Halls latest collection was featured at the close of Islands of the World Fashion Week on November 8th at the Atlantis on Paradise Island.

Nassau, The Bahamas - A fashion feast lasting four days was deemed a huge success by participants and guests of the inaugural Islands of the World Fashion Week, which took place from November 5th to 8th primarily at the British Colonial Hilton, as well as the Atlantis on Paradise Island. The Mode Iles Ltd team, headed by Mr. Owen Bethel are to be congratulated on putting forth a top-notch world class event.

Island countries represented were Cuba, Fiji, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Madagascar, Barbados, St. Lucia, Jamaica, and of course The Bahamas. Three international guest designers, Peter Ingwersen of NOIR Illuminati II from Denmark, Nick Verreos of Nikolaki from the United States, and Kevan Hall also from the United States of America.

The winner of the 'Sustainable Eco-Fashion' Award was Queen Esther  ( Kuumba Designs) from St. Lucia; and Tamiko Browne ( Tami B Designs)  from St. Vincent took two awards, one for 'Culture and Fashion' and also the 'NextGen' Award.
