Nassau, Bahamas - A highlight of the Islands of the World Fashion Showcase which took place in Nassau last weekend was Cuba’s “Art and Fashion Project” (Arte y Moda) which showed at Fort Charlotte.
Direct from Havana and seen for only the 2nd time outside of Cuba, Islands of the World Fashion Showcase presents “Arte y Moda” (“Art and Fashion Project”) delivered a colourful feast of art, fashion, dance and music fused together in an awe-inspiring spectacle. From Bahamas it was back to Cuba for a showing at their National Museum of Fine Arts from November 13th to 16th with much of the collection made from recycled materials including metal.
"For the last four years, Arte y Moda has become a biennial event in which the designers bring some work of visual arts to their designs. Since its foundation, prominent Cuban visual artists have joined the project. They include Alfredo Sosabravo, Flora Fong and Cosme Proenza."
