The Miss Grand Bahama Beauty Pageant organization is in talks with persons in East End Grand Bahama, Eight Mile Rock and West End Grand Bahama communities scouting potential young ladies to compete in the upcoming
Miss Grand Bahama 2014 Beauty Pageant. Eligible candidates should be between the ages 16 to 25 years old.

The Miss Grand Bahama Organization is dedicated to grooming young women of Grand Bahama into purpose-driven, community-minded, beautiful young ladies.  The pageant is open to all of Grand Bahama and the organization has set a mandate to ensure as many of the Grand Bahama communities are represented as possible. They would like to see a Miss Eight Mile Rock, Miss West End Grand Bahama and Miss East End Grand Bahama competing on the same stage for the coveted title of Miss Grand Bahama.

"We
look forward to working with all parts of Grand Bahama to help make this year's event bigger and better so we are encouraging every community of Grand Bahama to get involved," said Glenn Davis, President, Miss Grand Bahama Organization. Dates for screenings in the various communities of Grand Bahama will be announced on their Facebook page at MissGBahama. A general screening is set for
May 24th at the YMCA in Freeport starting at 10am.

The ideal contestant for Miss Grand Bahama  is a person  who will successfully fulfill the requirements set forth and will wear the crown with dignity, respect and will be an excellent ambassador for the Bahamas. She must possess beauty/ good physical form; intelligence; effective communication skills;  a great attitude; a motivated spirit; be ready to work as part of a team; excellent speaking ability as well as listening ability, and be overflowing with confidence.

This year's theme is "Celebrating 28 Years of Beauty on Grand Bahama" as the organization looks to  pay  tribute to former queens
, some of which include: 1970 Patrice Degregory, 1978 Lolita Armbrister, 1981 Lisa Bartlett, 1983, Pamela Parker, 1988 Tasha Ramirez, 1988 Vanessa Ferguson, 1993 Bernadette Lightbourne, 1996 Donna Gray, 2007 Brittney Lightbourne, 2007 Nathalee Brown, 2008 Kerel Pinder, 2009 Nikie Severe, 2010  Tempestt Bullard, 2011 Keriann Stuart, 2012 Kristie Farah, 2013 Shequera King  and the reigning  Miss Grand Bahama, Lashanda Wildgoose.

Miss Grand Bahama will receive a 2-year
  scholarship to Terreve College, among her prizes and represent the Bahamas internationally!

The organization could not do this year after year without the help of their generous sponsors, and the organization is proud to send participates to over 5 pageants internationally such as Miss Yacht Model International, Miss Bikini International, Miss Global International, Miss Coffee International and Miss Heritage World. April Gow, Ejay Stuart and Nathaniel Lewis are in the process of  screening  potential contestants for 2014 Miss Grand Bahama Beauty Pageant. It's going to be another exciting pageant!
