Statement of Condolences from the Leader of the Bahamas Democratic Movement

Today it is with great sadness that I extend sorrowful condolences to The Hon. Romauld Ferreira, Member of Parliament for Marathon and the Minister of the Environment and Housing and his family on the passing of his son.

“The Ferreira family are close to my family, our children school to together,” recounted BDM Leader Stuart. With fewer words than usual, Mr. Stuart expressed how heart breaking the news is and that his family and the entire BDM family are praying for the Ferreira family, especially the parents, that they will find peace and comfort in this very difficult and painful time.

Mr. Stuart encourages anyone going through any form of hardship to not be afraid to talk to someone. He added that agencies exist to help and can provide some guidance. He also encourages Bahamians to be one another keepers and to be kinder to each other in words and actions.

Once again on behalf of my wife Sharmaine, our children, officers, members and the extended BDM family, I express heartfelt condolences to the Ferreira family on the passing of the Minister’s son.
