We are profoundly saddened on the sudden and tragic death of Dr. Myles Munroe, world renowned pastor, author and teacher. The Bahamas has lost one of our finest sons and one we deem to be a national hero. Dr. Munroe has impacted more lives globally than any other Bahamian in history and has touched persons from every segment of our society with his inspirational and motivational messages on Purpose, Leadership and the Kingdom of God. He has left a legacy of hope and empowerment for many generations to come and millions of followers around the world.

Myles Munroe was a true leader who practiced what he preached. He was sincere in fighting for righteousness and justice and was concerned about the state of our nation. He offered godly solutions to our social problems and was a man of great wisdom and impeccable character. His love for the Bahamas was seen by all. Dr. Munroe was an Ambassador of the highest order for both the Kingdom of God and The Bahamas. He was highly respected and like King Solomon, people sought him for his immense wisdom.

This Bahamian icon was multi-talented and used his God given gifts to bless millions around the globe. Dr. Munroe was a world changer who inspired his followers and listeners to develop their leadership qualities and become all that God created them to be.

Dr. Myles Munroe died empty as he taught so many to do. He was one in a million and it will be difficult for anyone to fill his shoes. His assignment is completed. He lived a fruitful and productive life to the glory of God and will be remembered in the hearts of every Bahamian and millions around the world. He was faithful to the very end and departed this earth walking in his divine purpose.

On a personal note, Dr. Myles telephoned me three days before the tragic plane crash that took his life and the lives of eight others including his dear wife, Ruth, his longtime friend and colleague Dr. Richard Pinder, his pilot Stanley 'Doc' Thurston and youth pastors Lavard and Radel Parks. In my last conversation with Dr. Munroe, he spoke about his concerns for the Bahamas and what we could do to improve the state of the nation.  He was indeed a selfless servant of the Bahamian people and a faithful Gatekeeper.

On behalf of my wife Minalee, the Board of Directors of Great Commission Ministries, the Pastors and leaders of People's Assembly Fellowship of Churches and members of Citizens For Justice, we extend sincere condolences to the entire Bahamas Faith Ministries family and the relatives of all who perished in the deadly crash. Our prayers and thoughts are with the families.
