Nassau, Bahamas -   We've had a very successful November with the BHS Ball, the BNT's Jollification and the Cole's of Nassau Fashion Show in aid of The Bahamas Humane Society.  Thank you all for your support at these events!  We hope we will continue to see you during December and onwards.

Time to pull out your calendars!  Coming up, we have:

December 4th ~ Quiz Night at Green Parrot, Nassau Side.  Registration is $10.00 per person for teams of two to six people.  Register at 7 p.m. for the quiz that begins at 7:30.  This is the final chance you'll have in 2012 to test your trivia knowledge and help the animals at the same time!  (Flyer attached.)

December 4th ~ Lecture Series by Devlin Stubbs.  New dog adopters are invited to join us at the BHS Shelter from 6:30 p.m.  to 7:30 p.m. to learn about caring for your animals.  (Flyer attached.)

December 15th ~ Christmas in the Garden Craft Fair at Goodfellow Farms.  The BHS will have a table, and we're looking for volunteers to help us out.  The day starts at 10 a.m. and runs to 8 p.m.   A portion of the dinner proceeds from that night will also be donated to the BHS.

December 16th ~ Jolly Fair at the New Providence Community Centre on Blake Road.  The BHS will have a table, and we're looking for volunteers to help us out here as well.  This event runs from noon to 4 p.m.

December 20th and 21st ~ Christmas Capers Mini-Camp at the BHS.  Registration is $30 per day or $55 for both days for children ages 5 - 12.  Please register early as space is limited.  Camp runs from 9 a.m. to noon.  Children are asked to bring a snack, a drink, and an old leash if they have one for dog walking.  (Flyer attached.)

December 25th ~ Christmas.
December 26th ~ Boxing Day.
January 1st ~ New Year's Day.
The Shelter and clinic will be closed on these three days.  Emergency services are still available.
On December 24th and 31st, only morning clinics (8 a.m. to 11 a.m.) will be held.

January 10th to 21st ~ Operation Potcake.  The BHS is teaming with Animal Balance, Baark, ARK, Pink Potcake, the VMAB, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Tourism to spay and neuter 2,000 dogs in ten days at five clinics across the island.  For more information, or to volunteer, please email potcake2013 or check out www.operationpotcake.com.
