Nassau, Bahamas - February is celebrated as Heart Month. Heart disease is the number one killer of persons in the Bahamas, especially women. Go Red Day in The Bahamas was celebrated the third Friday during the month of February. The Bahamas Heart Association has promoted Go Red day in support of heart health in women for several years. This year was no different. They encouraged the public to wear red and purchase Go Red dress pins, kindly donated by Bahama Health in support of heart health.

Persons around The Bahamas wore red and Go Red dress pins in support of heart health in women. The proceeds raised from the sale of the pins are donated to The Sir Victor Sassoon (Bahamas) Heart Foundation to help repair the hearts of children.

Persons wishing to support The Sir Victor Sassoon (Bahamas) Heart Foundation or The Bahamas Heart Association can call 327-0806.
