Nassau, Bahamas - The canine distemper virus continues to affect the dogs of New Providence.

To assist those less fortunate and their pets, the Bahamas Humane Society is providing  FREE distemper vaccines . The clinics are free of charge and are aimed at establishing a “ring of immunity” within New Providence to protect our pets.

Wednesday, October 29, 2014, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Tops Lumber on Wilton Street,

AND on,

Wednesday, November 5, 2014, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Super Value, Golden Gates on Carmichael Road,

AND on,

Friday, November 7, 2014, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Coke Memorial Methodist Church on Bernard Road in Fox Hill.

There will be no clinic on Friday, October 31, 2014, due to Halloween.  Please be sure to keep your pets safe and secure on this night as many dogs are frightened by fireworks / firecrackers.

If your dog received a first booster at any one of our previous free clinics, please be sure to bring it for the second.

These vaccines have been generously provided by Humane Society International.  Thank you also to all the people and organizations who helped spread the word about the previous ones.

Please bring your pets to get this important vaccine.

Contact the Bahamas Humane Society at 323-5138, check the Bahamas Humane Society website at www.bahamashumanesociety.com, or visit our Facebook page.

The Society  notes that to date, Grand Bahama is fortunate enough to have no cases of distemper.
