The Salvation Army Grants Town Corps has taken the opportunity to continue to put love in action by hosting its Second Annual Love Luncheon for The Bain & Grantstown Community. With the support of Corps members and volunteers, over eight hundred lunches were served to the attendees who had the opportunity to also receive clothes and toys during the afternoon’s festivities.
Pastor Major Vernitta Hepburn said “the Church Board knows the importance of being our sisters and brothers keeper everyday but looks forward to serving those in need in a big way through this Community Love Luncheon. The Community Love Luncheon is made possible through the donations received from the Annual Bell Ringing Season during the Christmas. “
“Love In Action is the catch phrase for today” said Melanese Coakley, Community Relations Associate for the Salvation Army .
The Salvation Army has been actively at work in The Bahamas since 1931 and touches more than 40,000 lives each year.
