Nassau, Bahamas - Executives, Students and Mentors of the Youth Empowerment Program (YEP) made a donation of non-perishable food items to Families of All Murder Victims (F.O.A.M).

One of the pillars of YEP Bahamas is Community Service and Community outreach. YEP Bahamas decide to partner with F.O.A.M because of the critical work that their organization does in the community with families of murdered victims as well as their outreach and preventative programs with young people in the communities.

F.O.A.M is a non-profit organization founded in 2012. The aim of the organization is to assist children whose parent/parents were murdered in the Bahamas. F.O.A.M is on call whenever a murder occurs in New Providence to lend a helping hand to families of the murder victims.

President & CEO of YEP Bahamas Mr. Delano Munroe said during a presentation to F.O.A.M at the YEP head Office that organizations such as F.O.A.M should be receiving greater attention, support, funding and resources from the Government and Private sector. Munroe pledge YEP Bahamas commitment to do whatever his organization can do to assist F.O.A.M in the future.

Munroe further added that the donation of the non-perishable food items were donated by the Students and Mentors enrolled in YEP Bahamas. The Youth Empowerment Program has nearly (1,000) one thousand students enrolled and (150) one hundred and fifty Mentors. Munroe also reminded that audience assembled that the Youth Empowerment Program is also a non-profit organization but insisted that we must teach our children at an early age the importance of giving back to our communities.

F.O.A.M President and Founder Ms. Khandi Gibson expressed her gratitude for the donation and reminded the Students in attendance that they have an important role to play in the reduction, prevention and eradication of violent crimes in our country. She challenged the Students to reach out to their peers, neighbors, and friends and assist them with getting involved with positive youth program such as YEP Bahamas.

The donation of the non-perishable food items will be used to assist with the ongoing work that F.O.A.M is doing in the community in particular with its outreach programs to children of murder victims.
