AML Foods Limited announced today the results for its fourth quarter ending January 31, 2013, recording a net profit of $1.06m after pre-opening costs of $356k, compared to $1.12m for the same period in the previous year, and YTD net profit of $2.42m after pre-opening costs of $590k, compared to a prior YTD net profit of $1.74m after pre-opening costs of $296k. Financial highlights include:

• Total sales increase of $8.03m or 26.3% for the quarter and YTD $29.48m or 29.9%;
• Gross margin dollars for the quarter were $11.4m or 29.6% of sales, reflecting an increase of $2.37m or 26.3% over the same period in the prior year. YTD gross margin dollars were $38.11m or 29.7% of sales, an increase of $8.9m or 30.5% over the prior year...

NASSAU, The Bahamas – Minister of State for Investment in the Office of the
Prime Minister the Hon. Khaalis Rolle said, on March 21, 2013, that the grand opening of the new Solomon’s Fresh Market represents a “secure investment” in the Bahamian people and the eastern New Providence communities.

  “It is meaningful, not only because it is necessary, but because it is a Bahamian business significantly investing in its country,” Minister Rolle said during the Grand Opening Ceremony held that day at the Harbour Bay Shopping Plaza.  

Minister Rolle said that investing in the Bahamian people is something that the Bahamas Investment Authority believes in and promotes every day.

AML Foods Limited announced today the results for its third quarter ending October 31, 2012, recording a net profit of $374k compared to $60k for the same period in the previous year and YTD net profit of $1.4m compared to a prior YTD net profit of $623k. Financial highlights include:

• EPS of $0.02 for the quarter compared to $0.00 for the prior year period and EPS of $0.09 YTD compared to $0.04 for prior YTD;
• Overall sales increased $7.1m or 29.9% for the quarter and $21.5m or 31.4% YTD;
• Increased gross margin dollars for the quarter of $2.2m or 30.9% and YTD of $6.5m or 32.4% reflecting increased sales as well as improvements in gross margin from 29.6% in 2011 to 29.8%;

For a handful of them however, it marks the beginning of a new journey that prepares them to be leaders in The Bahamas and stewards of the environment. The Bahamian Environmental Stewards Scholarship (BESS) programme is designed for students who have finished High School and are interested in the marine sciences. Those selected to the programme participate in a 14-week course at The Island School living on a sustainable campus, learning about the marine environment, and taking part in on-going research projects. Nassau, Bahamas –  AML Foods Limited, announced today that they were successful in raising $40,000 during their recent “Gifts for Good” program, in support of twenty local charities in New Providence and Grand Bahama.  The program ran during the month of August and each of the charities received $2,000. 
 
President and CEO, Gavin Watchorn said, “Although we fell short of our initial goal by $10,000, we are still very pleased with our overall efforts.  AML Foods Limited initially agreed to match the donations collected up to $25,000, but the response we received highlighted the tough economic times that we are facing and the great need of many in our communities.  Because of this we decided to increase our donation to $30,000.  We are indeed happy that we were still able to meet the challenge...

The Bahamas - Heralding the start of a new era of growth and development, Mr. Gavin Watchorn, President and CEO, announces effective immediately, the renaming of Abaco Markets Limited to AML Foods Limited.   The name change, which had been approved by the Company’s shareholders at their July 21st Annual General Meeting, was recently formally approved by the Registrar of Companies.

The Company has its roots and origins in Abaco, having been established there in 1989 when a local group launched an initial public offering. As the Company grew its operations in New Providence and Grand Bahama, the use of the word ‘Abaco’ became less appropriate.   With the divestment of Cost Right Abaco in March 2009...
