Northern Bahamas Disabled Council elect new officers

The Northern Bahamas Disabled Council were officially installed on Sunday at the Our Savior Lutheran Church.  Rev. RE: Council for the Disabled Installation

On Tuesday June 19, 2007 the Northern Bahamas Council for the Disabled held its annual General Election at the Foster B. Pestina Center @ 7 pm.

 

The Newly Installed Executives for the period 2007 to 2009 is as follow:

 

Mrs. Bessiemae Nottage – President

Mr. Frederick Poitier – Vice President

Ms. Yvonne Mott – Treasurer

Ms. Brenda Williams – Assist. Treasurer

Ms. Shannaieve Knowles – Secretary

Mrs. Cleo Johnson – Assist Secretary

Mr. Derrick J. Nottage – Immediate past President

 

The Installation Church Service was held at Our Saviour Lutheran Church on Sunday July 15, 2007 @ 11 am.

PLEASE NOTE: The month of October will be observed as Disability Awareness Month in Grand Bahama. We are planning various activities to commerorate our month with our Annual Fun, Run, Walk & Push on Saturday, October 6, 2007 @ 7 am, Gospel Concert tentative date for Friday 26, 2007 @ 8 pm. In addition to these fundraisers to assist us in raising much needed funds for our building we will begin with a church service on Sunday 28, 2007 , school visits and educational forum to continue with our public awareness c ampaign.
