Old Bahama Bay Appoints Jackie Carroll as Director of Guest Services

West End, Grand Bahama Island – Old Bahama Bay by Ginn Sur Mer is pleased to announce the appointment of long-time hospitality professional Jacqueline Carroll as Director of Guest Services.

With a career in the industry that spans a few decades, Carroll has proven herself to be a dedicated and reliable professional with a passion for hospitality service. With a natural affinity for getting along with people, she gravitated towards the Hospitality Industry where she found her niche and never looked back. She has also been able to touch the lives of many employees and visitors in a positive way, helping employees find solutions in their careers and personal lives. With guests, she has a knack for solving their problems and exceeding their expectations. “I have always wanted to be in a career where I would be able to interact with others in a positive way and my years in the Hospitality Industry have given me the opportunity to do just that,” said Carroll. “Additionally, I have met many employees and guests who have touched my life and with whom I have forged many lifelong relationships,” she added.

Carroll began her career here on Grand Bahama Island in 1977 at the Princess Tower Hotel where she served as the Administrative Assistant to the General Manager. She remained with the resort even after its rebranding as the Tower at Bahamia, becoming its Front Office Manager. From 1989 she became responsible for the operation and management of Reservations, Bell and Concierge services; as well as the development of programs which included the integration of transactions from all other resort departments. When the company was rebranded again in the year 2000, Carroll began work as the resort’s Resident Manager and continued working with the company until 2005.

Carroll later moved to New Providence where she began work as the Interim General Manager of the Sunspree Resort where she became responsible for developing marketing strategies, preparing the company’s annual budget and overseeing the resort’s transition from a branded property to an independent property. These experiences in leadership and budget preparation provided her with a deeper understanding of the business of Hospitalityand paved the way for further advancement in the Industry. They also provided her with the opportunity to view the business from a macro perspective. “I look forward to making a significant contribution to the overall success of Old Bahama Bay and Ginn sur Mer as a whole. I believe that I bring to the table a new outlookand experience that could mesh well with objectives of Old Bahama Bay,” concluded Mrs. Carroll.

“We are very pleased to have someone with Jackie’s experience and expertise in the Industry at Old Bahama Bay. She is a welcome addition to our Executive Team and we know that she will make a very positive contribution to Ginn’s success here on Grand Bahama Island,” said Steve Palmer, Vice President & General Manager.

In her new post as Director of Guest Services, Carroll is now responsible for that department and will ensure all matters related to providing for guests in the Front Office, Housekeeping and the Laundry are handled in an efficient and effective manner. This includes assuming financial responsibility for those areas, as well as, forecasting, budgeting, financial performance, expenses and all such matters will fall under her jurisdiction. Carroll will also oversee guest transportation issues, including those pertaining to the use of the Ginn Airport.
