RBDF Apprehends Haitian Migrants

A total of 31 Haitian migrants have been apprehended in the Ragged
Island chain by members of the Royal Bahamas Defence early this

the command of Senior Lieutenant Shawn Adderley commenced
investigations confirming suspected migrant sightings on an uninhabited
cay, north of Ragged Island. A search of the cay uncovered just over
30 migrants, who all appeared to be in fair health...

temporary housing solutions for Bahamians displaced by Hurricane Dorian.

Hundreds of residents of Marsh Harbour were in attendance at a town hall
meeting Thursday night hosted by the Bahamas Disaster Reconstruction
Authority and Local Government.
The Authority has been meeting
with residents of Dorian-impacted communities to update them on recovery

Digital Recording System to be reintroduced to the Bahamas Courts

With the assistance of the United States Embassy, a digital recording
system will be reintroduced to the Courts, Chief Justice Brian Moree,
QC, announced recently.
The Chief Justice said following a
review, the decision was made to follow the “judicial trend” and commit
to re-launching the system. “This is another part of the Courts’ new
technology platform and we expect to start with a pilot programme during
