BMOTA holds Coronavirus Seminar for vendors At Freeport Harbour - Mar 20, 2020 - 11:14:43 AM
The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation (BMOTA) partnered with the
Public Hospitals Authority this week to present a health seminar on
novel coronavirus to taxi drivers and local vendors. The session, held
at the Freeport Harbour on March 16, was coordinated to share accurate
information regarding the virus and provide general safety precautions
to take amid growing concerns.
“It is important to remember that
coronavirus is not necessarily a death sentence,” Dr. Frank Bartlett,
head of the Grand Bahama Coronavirus Task Force, said.

Organizers promote upcoming 3rd Annual Bjorn Munroe Tennis Tournament - Mar 10, 2020 - 12:00:43 PM
The Bjorn Munroe Tennis Tournament will return to Grand Bahama this
summer for a third consecutive year, and organizers are expecting to
triple the number of participating athletes. During a press conference
on March 8, event organizers announced plans for the tournament and
declared this year’s competition would be their best yet.

the ‘Go Diving 2020’ trade and consumer event in Coventry, UK. Also
representing the magnificent dive facilities of the islands was Muriel

Go Diving, the
second annual show, was spread across three days, the Friday for
trade-only and the weekend for consumers, attracting nearly 7,000

The Coconut Festival Committee and Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and
Aviation (BMOTA) have announced that, despite challenges posed by
Hurricane Dorian, the 22nd Annual Coconut Festival will move ahead as
planned next month in the Pelican Point Community.

attended the Routes Americas 2020 conference recently in Indianapolis,
Indiana. Attending from the Ministry of Tourism were Tyrone Sawyer,
Senior Director – Airlift Development and Faye Cash, General Manager –
Airlift Development.

twenty-five (25) minute meetings per day with airline partners, between

Bahamas Charter show seeks to donate to Ranfurly Home for Children - Feb 17, 2020 - 11:06:31 AM
All proceeds from the upcoming Bahamas Charter Show, slated for February
27 – March 1, will go to the construction of a transitional home on the
grounds of the Ranfurly Homes for Children.
The new home will
be a part of Ranfurly’s Step program, designed to give young adults 18
and over a stepping-stone for the next phase of their lives.
The
Bahamas Charter Show, which is being organized by Worldwide Boat, an
international charter company, is hoping to raise $110,000 towards the

American Airlines resumes Grand Bahama Service - Feb 14, 2020 - 11:25:23 AM
American Airlines has relaunched its flight service to Grand Bahama,
providing daily flights between Freeport and Miami, Florida. The airline
officially resumed travel to the island on Thursday, February 13 with
the arrival of an E175 jet to Grand Bahama International Airport at the
Fixed Based Operator (FBO). The capacity flight brought in 76
passengers.
American Airlines flight 4427 will depart Miami daily
at 10:40 a.m. and arrive in Freeport at 11:38 a.m. On its return to the
U.S., flight 4427 will depart Freeport at 12:15 p.m. for a 1 p.m.
arrival in Miami...
