Dozens of businesses granted duty waivers for apparel imports

The Ministry of Finance is inviting retail shoe and clothing merchants
to take advantage of the customs duty waiver that is available to
businesses to reduce the cost of importing goods. Since the policy was
announced in July, with the start of the 2018/2019 budget year, the
Ministry of Finance granted waivers to 154 applicants.

Emmanuel Roberts was laid to rest in an Official Ceremony on Friday,
November 9, 2018 at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, West Street. Paying
respects were family members, friends, colleagues, former constituents

Laboratory services at the Rand Memorial Hospital have been suspended
this weekend as the hospital’s management and technical teams continue
to monitor the aftermath of a chemical spill which occurred in the
Laboratory on Thursday morning. Management however has confirmed the
full restoration of radiology services, and the cessation of referrals
from General Practice to the Freeport Community Clinic.

Chemical Spill In The Rand Memorial Hospital Laboratory Under Control

Laboratory and Radiology services temporarily suspended today at
the Michaela Virgill Storr Pavilion of the Rand Memorial Hospital
following a minor chemical spill in the Laboratory this morning. No
injuries were reported, however cautionary measures were taken for
employees affected to be seen by doctors on staff. At no time did the
incident impact patients admitted on the hospital’s wards, as teams
worked quickly to contain the spill...
