Song Competition for 19th Conference of Commonwealth Education Ministers Officially Begins - Sep 17, 2014 - 4:59:40 PM

NASSAU, The Bahamas – As The Bahamas prepares to host the 19thConference of Commonwealth Education Ministers (19th CCEM) in June of 2015, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology began the search for a song that will herald the importance of education and promote unity between member states of the Commonwealth.

Education, Science and Technology Minister the Hon. Jerome Fitzgerald said the Song Competition is another project that will enable The Bahamas to ‘brand’ the 19th CCEM, and entries are expected to ‘celebrate’ the power of education to enhance the lives of individuals and nations.

Minister Fitzgerald officially launched the 19th CCEM Song Competition during a news conference at the Ministry of Youth on September 5.

Until October 22, experienced producers from around the world may submit new feature film projects to the Berlinale Co-Production Market 2015. With budgets between one and twenty million euros, the projects should be suitable for international co-production and have 30% of their financing already in place.

Special this year is that “Berlinale directors” (directors who have previously shown a film in one of the Festival’s sections) may enter their new projects even if they do not meet all the Berlinale Co-Production Market’s financing criteria. Like last time, budget requirements have also been waived for Greece, Spain and Portugal in order to support producers there to participate in the international market even though the financial situation...

For the third year running, the Festival is making a call for submissions for its Film in Development Award, sponsored by bpTT. The award is a place in the Rotterdam Lab for producers at the prestigious International Film Festival Rotterdam in January 2015.

The Rotterdam Lab — of which the ttff is a nominating partner — is designed to provide emerging film producers with assistance in getting their film projects completed and brought to audiences around the world.
