Nassau, The Bahamas - Nassau, The Bahamas - Here is a little taste of what to expect from Islands of the World Fashion Week, set for November 5th to 7th, 2009 in Nassau. The event is open to the public. Tickets are on sale. Enclosed here is a Kevan Hall fashion show from 2008.

Fashion designer to stars such as Vanessa Williams, Sharon Stone, Katherine Heigl, Felicity Huffman, Ruby Dee, Debra Messing, Angela Bassett, Salma Hayek and Charlize Theron. Kevan Halls latest collection was featured at the close of Islands of the World Fashion Week on November 8th at the Atlantis on Paradise Island. The event, organized by Mode Îles, Ltd., an arm of The Montaque Group, provides an annual showcase for designers either originating from or based in islands around the world.  Islands of the World Fashion Week highlights the themes of cultural diversity and dialogue, and draws attention to the global issues of the environment and climate change, the education of youth on HIV/AIDS, and poverty alleviation, particularly as they impact small island states. The event is endorsed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific & Cultural Organization (UNESCO) based in Paris. 

Detroit-born Kevan Hall's fashion creativity emerged early. By the age of seven, he knew he wanted to be a fashion designer. After attending Cass Technical High School in Detroit, where he studied fashion design, he won first place as "Designer of Tomorrow" - a scholarship sponsored by the Los Angeles-based Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. While studying in California, he made a vision-enhancing trip to Europe, where at the houses of Cardin, Dior and most notably, Givenchy his lifelong love of luxury and haute couture was once again sparked.
