Grand Bahama traffic accident claims 3 lives

Freeport, The Bahamas - Police on Grand Bahama are investigating a fatal traffic accident, which has claimed the lives of three (3)persons.

According to reports at approximately 9:15pm on Thursday 12th November 2015 a traffic accident occurred at the junction of Explorers Way and Coral Road, Freeport, Grand Bahama that involved two vehicles. As a result of the crash an adult male and an adult female succumbed to their injuries while on the scene. Another adult female was seriously injured in the mishap and was transported by Emergency Medical Services personnel to the Rand Memorial Hospital for further medical attention. At approximately 2:15am on Friday 13th November 2015 the female succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. This brings the traffic fatality count to fourteen (14) for Grand Bahama. Investigations are ongoing in this matter.

We are advising all road users to drive with due care and attention and look out for pedestrians travelling along our streets. Additionally, we are encouraging members of the public who may have information of about this accident to call at 911, 919 or your local police station, you may do so anonymously
