Freeport, Bahamas - Police in Grand Bahama along with Civil Aviation Authority are investigating the circumstances that led to an
aircraft incident at Grand Bahama International Airport.
Reports are that on Tuesday 7th February 2017 shortly after 5:00pm, officers were alerted that a Western Air
twin engine aircraft with 33 passengers had attempted to land at the Grand Bahama International Airport
when the aircraft skidded of the runway and landed some two hundred feet in bushes. EMS personnel were
called to the scene and rendered assistance to several passengers who were taken to the Rand Memorial
Hospital with non-life threatening injuries and were discharged.
Investigation into this matter is continuing.
