RBPF Grand Bahama: Apparent drowning - Attempted armed robbery

POLICE IN GRAND BAHAMA ARE INVESTIGATING TWO INCIDENTS THAT OCCURRED ON SUNDAY 30TH SEPTEMBER 2018 AN APPARENT DROWNING

Freeport, Grand Bahama - Reports are that on Sunday 30th September 2018 shortly after 1:00pm, police were called to Silver Palm Street, where it was reported that a group of persons were at that location, when a male jumped into the canal. After some time when the male did not resurface, another male went into water and retrieved him. CPR was administered, however the male never regained consciousness. The victim was taken by ambulance to the Rand Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

ATTEMPTED ARMED ROBBERY

The second incident occurred shortly after 9:00pm, reports are that two masked males, both armed with a firearm, entered a business establishment in Hunters, held up a security guard and a female employee and demanded cash. The female employee ran into the bathroom and was shot to the leg. Both bandits made good their escape by foot without any cash.

Police are actively investigating and are appealing to the general public for any information that can assist in this investigation to call them at telephone numbers 350-3107 thru 12, 911/919 or call your nearest police station.
