RBPF Grand Bahama: Traffic accident & Firearm possession

Traffic accident – Grand Bahama -
Police in Grand Bahama are investigating a traffic accident that has left a 35 year old male hospitalized in serious condition.

Reports are that on Friday 19th September 2015 at 7:30pm, police received information of a traffic accident along Seahorse Road and Grovesnor Way, involving a black and red motorcycle and a green 2005 Ford Taurus.

Both vehicles received damages. The driver of the motorcycle however received serious injuries to the head and was taken to the Rand Memorial Hospital by EMS personnel where he is said to be listed in serious condition.Police are investigating.

Possession of firearm – Grand Bahama -
A 41 year old male of Coral Fish Street is in police custody after he was found with an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

Reports are that on Friday 12th September 2015 shortly after 12:00am, Officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit while in a business establishment on East Sunrise Highway, arrested the 41 year old male after he was found in possession of a black and silver .38 Smith and Western Revolver with (5) live rounds of ammunition. Two other weapons a licensed Remington 12 gauge shotgun and a licensed Maverick 12 gauge pump action shotgun along with (127) live rounds of shotgun shells were seized and confiscated from the suspects residence.

Investigations are continuing.Crime Prevention Tip:The Royal Bahamas Police Force would like to remind you to be vigilant in the protection of your vehicle and the items that you keep inside them. Criminals look for an easy target... is your vehicle an easy target?
