A message from Lucas Metropulos, who is known for his community work in The Bahamas.

left quite the damage throughout the Bahamas and in Nassau from the
reports I am hearing from people across the island. Thus, I along with a
few others have put together a relief fund to raise funds from
supporters in the United States and in Nassau to be used towards relief
efforts in Nassau..."

Inner City Fishing Trip held for Bahamian Kids - Aug 14, 2015 - 1:46:27 PM
Nassau, Bahamas - On Saturday, August 8th the Lend a Hand
Bahamas (LAHB) organization hosted an ocean fishing venture for 30+
children from the inner-city area of Grant's Town. For many of the kids
it was their first time fishing and for almost all of them it was their
first time on a boat. The kids ranged in age from 6- 20 years old and
were accompanied by community leader Valentino "Scrooge" Brown and other
adult volunteers from the inner-city community. The children were
transported down from Grant's Town all the way to Adelaide with the help
of Brenda Harris and Jeff Brown. At 11 am the two boats departed full
of smiling children under the direction of our two captains: Jeff
Mitchell and George Maillis...

Grant's Town fundraiser held by Lend a Hand Bahamas Foundation - Mar 11, 2015 - 8:58:20 PM
Nassau,
Bahamas - On March 7th, a fundraiser was held by the Lend a Hand
Bahamas Foundation, which was recently created to plan, develop, and
manage community centres where needed in the Bahamas.
"We raised
some funds and put on a great event for the children and families we are
working to positively impact," the foundation founder, Lucas Metropulos
who was assisted by George
Maillis, Valentino "Scrooge" Brown, Edmund Dorsett, and Marvin Coleby.

Teach a Man to Fish: Duke University student making a difference in Nassau - Jul 26, 2012 - 5:09:15 PM
Nassau, Bahamas - Lucas Metropulos,
President and Founder of an organization called Fishing for Families in
Need, Inc.started his program at the young age of 15 in his hometown of
Boca Raton, FL after an experience in Nassau, Bahamas. In 2007, he
traveled to Nassau to visit family friends. He said that the Maillis
Family, who have lived in The Bahamas for over 100 years, took him
fishing and showed him the beauty of the Bahamas. "They showed me the
creatures that live in the oceans, how to fish, and most importantly how
to give back to the community," said Metropulos.
When he got back home
and pondered his summer experience he said he realized he had to do
something with the knowledge and experience he had just gained...
