The Bahamas Great Abaco Classic Is A Million-Dollar Swing - Jan 29, 2019 - 12:35:49 PM

The Bahamas Great Abaco Classic was a million-dollar swing with golfers, visitors and organizers.

A total of 132 players from around the world competed for the $600,000 purse at the Abaco Club on Winding Bay, January 20 - 23. This event was the second of two Web.com Tour events in The Bahamas. The first was The Bahamas Great Exuma Classic.

When the dust had settled, Rafael Campos, a native of Puerto Rico, was declared the winner. Campos is the first Puerto Rican to win on the Web.com Tour. This win is his first professional win.

Representatives from The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism & Aviation on Tuesday accepted three awards for outstanding travel marketing at the 62nd annual Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) Adrian Awards Gala at the New York Marriott Marquis. The Adrian Awards is the largest and most prestigious global travel marketing competition.

In the Public Relations category, the Ministry was honored with a Gold Adrian Award for excellence in influencer marketing. The winning campaign, titled “Under the Influence of The Bahamas,” was centered on the insights that more than 40% of millennials...

Over the period January 10 - February 7, The Islands Of The Bahamas brand is receiving high visibility in a heavily trafficked area of the Sawgrass Mills Mall, South Florida, in what is being called a major brand takeover or mall domination.

5.1 million viewers will know that golf is better in The Bahamas January 13-16 and January 21-24, 2019 during the Web.com Tour in Exuma and Abaco, respectively. Golfers will tee off at Sandals Emerald Bay Resort and the Abaco Club on Winding Bay.

American Airlines Brings New Flights To The Islands Of The Bahamas - Dec 27, 2018 - 4:40:57 PM

The holidays in North Eleuthera and Marsh Harbour, Abaco got a lot busier after American Airlines brought in two new flights from Charlotte, North Carolina.

The flights began on December 22 and will continue to those locations every Saturday.

Passengers will fly to North Eleuthera Airport on a 75-seat Bombardier CRJ700 regional jet, while service to Marsh Harbour Airport will operate on an Embraer E175 that carries 78 passengers...

The Islands Of The Bahamas is undoubtedly one of the top warm weather destinations in the world and this year, American Airlines is teaming up with the country to make the destination more accessible for the winter season for Chicagoans. AA’s new seasonal non-stop Saturday service into Nassau, Bahamas out of Chicago O’Hare starts December 22nd.

The new service will feature a flight that departs Chicago at 8:30 am, arriving Nassau, Bahamas in time for lunch on the beach at 12:45 pm.  The service will be operated by 160-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft...

The Islands Of The Bahamas continues to dominate tourism in the Caribbean. So says Caribbean Journal which bestowed on the destination two key awards in its Caribbean Travel Awards 2018: Best Caribbean Destination and Best Caribbean Tourism Minister. Caribbean Journal is the world’s largest website covering Caribbean travel and tourism.

Editor and Publisher of Caribbean Journal Alexander Britell said, “The region’s tourism offering has never been more diverse or more energetic. It’s a message to the world that the Caribbean isn’t just back — it’s better than ever.”

The Islands Of The Bahamas continues to ramp up its marketing efforts, particularly in the Florida area where the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation (BMOTA) has entered into a new partnership with Brightline.

Brightline is a high speed rail system that connects some of the major cities in Florida, namely West Palm Beach, Miami and Ft. Lauderdale.
