In a recent meeting of The Bahamas Hotel and Tourism Association’s
Board of Directors & Membership Meeting, Director General Joy
Jibrilu shared hopeful news that the tourism industry is well on the way
to recovery.
Noting that 2020 was a challenging year, not only
for the country but also globally, Jibrilu expressed her excitement on
the current position that the industry holds. “Our insights show us that
there is huge interest in Caribbean travel, and specifically travel to
The Bahamas.”
Data has shown that this interest has peaked since

Blue Lagoon is the first tourist attraction in The Bahamas to receive
the Safe Travels Stamp indicating the attraction’s readiness for the
return of visitors and residents to this tourism experience. The stamp
issued by the Bahamas’ Safe Travels Stamp Ambassador, the Tourism
Development Corporation, recognizes Blue Lagoon for its enhanced health
and safety protocols put in place by the World Travel and Tourism

Ministry of Tourism on Outstanding Industrial Agreement Payments to Airport Authority Employees - Feb 16, 2021 - 8:06:37 PM
The Ministry of Tourism & Aviation, which has ministerial
responsibility for the Airport Authority, is aware of concerns being
raised by Airport Authority employees through their Union, the Bahamas
Public Services Union, about certain sums of money to be paid as a part
of the Industrial Agreement. The Government of The Bahamas has agreed
to pay all outstanding monies owed to the Airport Authority employees
over a 6month period commencing the March 2021 pay-period.
The
Ministry has remained fully committed to honouring all agreed terms of
the Industrial Agreement, and this has been communicated.

Canadians face new mandatory PCR test before turning to Canada - Jan 4, 2021 - 4:38:58 PM
As news emerged concerning a new variant of the Covid-19 virus
circulating in the United Kingdom, Canada acted swiftly to cancel all
flights from the UK to Canada. Additionally, effective January 7th,
2021, the Government of Canada has imposed an additional requirement for
all visitors to Canada as well as returning nationals who must have a
negative PCR test taken 72 hours prior to arrival in Canada and uploaded
