AA Adds New Seasonal Winter Flights to Nassau, Bahamas from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport - Dec 20, 2018 - 8:35:26 PM

The Islands Of The Bahamas is undoubtedly one of the top warm weather destinations in the world and this year, American Airlines is teaming up with the country to make the destination more accessible for the winter season for Chicagoans. AA’s new seasonal non-stop Saturday service into Nassau, Bahamas out of Chicago O’Hare starts December 22nd.

The new service will feature a flight that departs Chicago at 8:30 am, arriving Nassau, Bahamas in time for lunch on the beach at 12:45 pm.  The service will be operated by 160-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft...

The Islands Of The Bahamas continues to dominate tourism in the Caribbean. So says Caribbean Journal which bestowed on the destination two key awards in its Caribbean Travel Awards 2018: Best Caribbean Destination and Best Caribbean Tourism Minister. Caribbean Journal is the world’s largest website covering Caribbean travel and tourism.

Editor and Publisher of Caribbean Journal Alexander Britell said, “The region’s tourism offering has never been more diverse or more energetic. It’s a message to the world that the Caribbean isn’t just back — it’s better than ever.”

The Abaco Christmas Festival saw a record number of attendees this year, according to Wynsome Ferguson, Manager of the Abaco Tourist Office.

“Several thousand people would have visited the festival grounds throughout the day and evening on Saturday, keeping close to 40 vendors very busy and happy,” Ferguson said...

The Islands Of The Bahamas continues to ramp up its marketing efforts, particularly in the Florida area where the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation (BMOTA) has entered into a new partnership with Brightline.

Brightline is a high speed rail system that connects some of the major cities in Florida, namely West Palm Beach, Miami and Ft. Lauderdale.

Friends of the Environment, Every Child Counts and the Hope Town Volunteer Fire Department will collectively receive over $170,000 to split evenly, thanks to the proceeds raised from the Combustion Hope Town Music Festival, held this past weekend in Hope Town. The 2018 Fort Lauderdale International Show (FLIBS) opened with a burst of kaleidoscope colors and high energy on October 31, as the Colors Junkanoo group, paraded the show grounds at Sea Breeze Boulevard, in beautiful costumes while dancing to the pulsating and rhythmic junkanoo sound of goat skinned drums, cowbells, whistles and horns.
