popular demand the Bahamas International Film Festival (BIFF) non -
profit organization will be hosting the
bi annual fundraiser "Big Screen
Art Scene" once again Saturday,
October 20th at 6:00pm.
This spectacular event will be on board the 135 foot Carrousel Yacht
and ventures deep into the Bahamian arts and culture scene by building
strong relationships with a wide variety of local artists.

Deadline for Submission: July 23, 2012
The Bahamas International Film Festival (BIFF)
seeks applications from young writers, directors and producers from
around the world. Deadline for all Screenplays must be postmarked by
July 23, 2012. (No extensions will be granted). Those accepted will be
notified by the end of October and are invited to attend BIFF.
The
mission of the BIFF Screenplay Residency Programme is to develop and
nurture the next generation of Screenwriters and Filmmakers from around

Bahamas - Bahamas International Film Festival (BIFF) unveils their 2012
poster. Winning the poster competition is Theo McClain, partner and
Creative Director, IDYA, whose skills range from photography
printmaking, screen-printing, graphic design and illustration.
Judges
for the competition were Bahamian graphic designer, Dionne
Benjamin-Smith; Bahamian artist Lavar Munroe; and American graphic
designer, Lise Andersson Logan.

Competition winners at the 8th Bahamas International
Film Festival (BIFF) were revealed on December 4th at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island.
Winners were announced by their respective juries.
"On the Wings of Men" a film about the life and times
of the
the first black premier of the Colony of the Bahama Islands,
Sir Lynden Oscar Pindling
came out on top receiving the Audience Award for Best Documentary.
Director Calvin Dwight Harris (USA/Bahamas) was on hand to receive the award for his film featuring interviews by many political figures from The Bahamas.
The film opens to the
public at the JFK Galleria on Friday, December 9th...

December 4, 2011 – Competition winners at the 8th Bahamas International
Film Festival (BIFF) were revealed tonight at a packed awards ceremony
held at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island.
The competition
categories at BIFF were Spirit of Freedom: Narrative; Documentary; New
Visions: First Look; and Short Film. Special sections included Caribbean
and Environmental sidebars as well as a World Cinema showcase.

Heather Graham (
Boogie Nights, Drugstore Cowboy, Austin Powers) will be
honored with the prestigious Career Achievement Award at this year’s

Bahamas International Film
Festival (BIFF) is set for
December 1st to 4th, 2011 in Nassau. BIFF is
very much looking
