Family Guardian Insurance has the following position open in their Nassau branch for an Actuary

Summary Key Accountabilities:

          Financial Reporting

• Oversee the production of reserves for future policyholder benefits for long term insurance contracts Canadian Policy Premium Method (PPM)

• Oversee the production of reserves for Annuities

• Oversee the calculation of the Minimum Continuing Capital Statutory Ratio (MCCSR) and the Local Solvency Ratio and other relevant regulatory reporting requirements

• Key reporting requirements relative to cash flows, business projections, valuation interest rate determination and asset-liability matching

  Experience Studies

• Oversee the completion of the year-end experience studies for long term insurance contracts including Mortality, Investment Yields, Persistency, Expenses, and on-going review based on using the emerging group and industry experience

• Oversee the completion of monthly data analysis and validation of the change in business in-force, i.e. new issues, lapses, surrenders, death claims, maturities etc.

• Support financial reporting and experience analysis issues for other departments such as: Finance, Financial Services, Home Service, Group Life and Health, Operations, Underwriting and Claims

• Provide missing non-forfeiture values and answer product related questions

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• Completion of Society of Actuaries Exams and certification

• Experience in capital management and or ALM or PPM functions
