21-yr-old arrested at Bimini airport for suspected marijuana possession

BIMINI, Bahamas  -- A 21 year old male is in police custody after he was found in possession of a quantity of suspected marijuana at the Bimini International Airport.

Reports are that on Tuesday 14th June 2016 at 4:00pm, the male suspect presented himself to the security screening area at the Bimini International Airport with his luggage, where it was discovered by police to contain a quantity of suspected marijuana. He was arrested and is expected to be arraigned before the Magistrate Court this week.

Also officers of Operation Turf Sweep took into custody on Tuesday 14th June 2016 at 4:00pm, the male suspect presented himself to the security Bahamian and (1) American for Possession of Dangerous Drugs.

Reports are that officers arrested the three males at the Taino Beach area after they were found in possession of a quantity of suspected marijuana.

They are also expected to be arraigned before the Magistrate Court later this week.

Police are also urging anyone who may have any information regarding any crime, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at328-TIPS (8477)
