3 Charged in Abaco for Insulting Bahamas National Flag

ABACO, Bahamas - Three persons were arraigned before the Magistrate Court in Abaco for insulting the National flag.

Reports are that on Saturday 26th July 2014 shortly after 8:00pm, police received information that person(s) had insulted the National Flag at their home in Sands Bank, Abaco. Officers responded and as a result of their investigations three persons were taken into custody.

Two males ages 57 and 20 years old and a female age 44 years all of Haitian decent and of #93 Sands Bank, Abaco were arraigned before the Magistrate Court on Tuesday 29th July 2014, before Magistrate Ancella Evans on the charge of insulting the National Flag, they all pleaded guilty to the charges and were all fined $500.00 each or three months imprisonment on the charge of insulting the National Flag and $50.00 each for Damage to the National Flag.

The 44 year old female who had no status in the Bahamas was ordered deported.
