50 homes destroyed in Abaco fire

The Abacos, Bahamas -  Police in Abaco are investigating the cause of a fire that has left numerous wooden structures destroyed in the Sand Bank Community, Treasure Cay, Abaco.

Reports are that on Sunday 4th May 2014 shortly before 1:00am, police received information that there was a fire in that community, officers responded along with the Marsh Harbour Fire Volunteer Service and the Treasure Cay Crash and Fire Rescue. The fire was eventually brought under control shortly after 3:00am, there were approximately fifty homes that were destroyed in the blaze, no deaths or injuries were reported.

 A 23 year old male of the Sand Bank Community is assisting police with their investigation into this matter.

 Police are investigating.
