Boating accident in Abaco

Abaco, Bahamas - Police in Abaco are investigating a boating incident that has left a male with burns about the body.

Reports are that on Sunday 7th September 2014 shortly before 10:00pm, a 35ft Defender vessel with 370hp engine attached and five persons on board, while some six miles south east of Walkers Cay, reported that the engine of the vessel exploded causing injuries to one of the male on board the vessel. He was taken to the Grand Cay Clinic on a smaller vessel and later transported to Grand Bahama with second degree burns about the body for further medical attention. His injuries are listed as serious.

Police are investigating.
