Cat Island traffic fatality being investigated by police

Cat Island, BAHAMAS  - Police in Cat Island are investigating a traffic accident that has left on man dead on Saturday 3rd May 2014.  

Preliminary information indicates that shortly after 11:00pm an accident occurred in Douds, Cat Island just south of New Bight involving a grey ford Club Wagon vehicle license number 1365 driven by an adult male and a white Ford Escape vehicle license number 1263 driver by an adult male with five (5) passengers.

 The driver of the Ford Escape was ejected from the vehicle and was taken to the local clinic along with his passengers to be treated for injuries received.

 The driver later succumbed to his injuries. One male passenger was immediately airlifted to New Providence and another is being airlifted early this morning.

 A team of officers from the Police Road Traffic Department will travel to Cat Island today to assist in the investigations.
