Drug Bust in Chub Cay

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2017, police took a Bahamian man and a Jamaican man into custody during a joint operation on Saturday 8th April 2017.

According to reports, shortly after 12:00noon, a team of officers assigned to the Drug Enforcement Unit and the Police Marine Support Unit assisted by U.S Drug Enforcement officers, intercepted a 32 foot vessel in waters off Bird Cay near Chub Cay with the two adult males onboard.

Drug Enforcement Unit officers conducted a search of the vessel and found six (6) packages containing 60 pounds of marijuana. The two suspects were taken into custody in connection with this find.
