Nassau, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2017, Police in Eleuthera took an adult female into
custody following an armed robbery on Tuesday 25th January 2017.
Reports are that shortly after 11:00am, a woman was driving her vehicle in Palmetto Point, when she picked
up an adult female who asked for a ride to Savannah Sound. Upon arrival in Savannah Sound the female
passenger stabbed the woman with a knife and demanded cash. The victim handed over her handbag and
was stabbed again. The suspect then took a small amount of cash from the handbag and fled on foot. The
victim was treated by the island’s local doctor and later transported New Providence for further medical
treatment. The victim’s injuries are listed as non-life threatening.
A short while later police arrested the female suspect in connection with this incident.
