Haitian Migrants Detained in South Eleuthera

According to reports, shortly after 3:00am on Saturday 13th May 2017, police received receive a report that several Haitians migrants landed in a sloop off Cape South Eleuthera. Responding officers arrived on the scene and were able to detain about 50 Haitian Nationals. The officers on checking the immediate area found the lifeless body of a male on the shoreline suspected to be part of the group of migrants.

The migrants have all been handed over to immigration officials. Investigations are ongoing.
