RBPF: Police on the island of Abaco are investigating a shooting incident that has left a male hospitalized.

Abaco, Bahamas - Reports are that on Saturday 25th May 2019 shortly before 9:00pm, police on the island of Abaco were called to the Marsh Harbour Health Clinic, where a male presented himself with a gunshot wound to the face. He reported that while in Murphy Town sitting in his vehicle, he was approached by a male known to him, who pointed a firearm in his direction, opened fire, hitting him in the face and fled. He was rushed to the Marsh Harbour Health Clinic via private vehicle and was seen by doctor who listed his injuries as serious, but stable. He was later airlifted to New Providence to seek further medical attention.

Shortly after 12:00am, on Sunday 26th May 2019, police in Abaco arrested a 22 year old resident of Murphy Town, Abaco, in connection with this matter.

POLICE ARE APPEALING TO ANYONE WITH INFORMATION REGARDING ANY CRIME, NO MATTER HOW SMALL OR INSIGNIFICANT (THE TIP) MAY SEEM, TO ANONYMOUSLY CALL POLICE AT 919 OR CRIME STOPPERS AT 328-TIPS (8477) (NEW PROVIDENCE) OR 1-242-300-8477 (FAMILY ISLANDS) OR THE CENTRAL DETECTIVE UNIT AT 350-3106/12.
