2 female visitors to Bahamas arrested for drug possession - American man arrested for failing to declare

FEMALE VISITORS ARRESTED FOR DRUG POSSESSION

Nassau, Bahamas - Two female visitors from California are in custody after they were arrested for possession of dangerous drugs on Sunday 17th July 2016.

Reports are that shortly after 11:30am, officers from the Tourism Policing Unit acting on information went to a cruise ship moored at Prince George Wharf, where they arrested the two female visitors who were found in possession of a quantity of marijuana. The two females are expected to appear in court later today to be formally charged.

AMERICAN MAN ARRESTED AT LPIA FOR FAILING TO DECLARE

An American man from New York is in custody after he was arrested for failing to declare on Sunday 17th July 2016.

Reports are that around 6:00pm, the American man was traveling to the United States when he was detained by US Customs and Border Protection officials at the US Pre-Clearance Lounge at LPIA after he was found in possession of $17,450:00 in cash that he failed to declare. He was handed over officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit and is expected to appear in court today to be formally charged.
