Assault rifles seized by Royal Bahamas Police Force

INAGUA - Police are reporting that in addition to the large amount of cocaine uncovered in the Inagua Drug Bust on Tuesday 26th January 2016 an assault rifle was also found.

Four Haitian men and a Bahamian man onboard the vessel was subsequently taken into custody in connection with this discovery.

NASSAU - Police are reporting the removal of another illegal firearm from the nation’s streets, this time in the Martin Street area on Wednesday 27th January 2017.

Reports are that around 4:30 pm, officers from the Selective Enforcement Team were conducting an operation in the Martin Street area when they uncovered an assault rifle. No one was arrested in connection with this discovery.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have any information regarding any crime, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) OR 1-242-300-8477 (FAMILY ISLANDS)
