Nassau, Bahamas - The following is a statement made by the Bahamas Commissioner of Police, at a press briefing on Monday, December 16th:

Good afternoon members of the press I invited you here today to share some very important information with you as it relates to the progress we have made in the investigation, into the robbery of the Hon. Deputy Prime Minister and his wife last Monday, 9th December 2013.

I wish to advise that we have in our custody four (4) males ages, 25, 21, 24 and 22, whom we feel very strongly about, that are connected to this very serious crime. We have recovered properties taken during the robbery. We have also recovered two firearms.

These men are also suspected of two other armed robberies, and we have recovered properties related to those matters. (Car, electronics and jewelries) We expect to file charges later this week.

However, we are seeking the public’s assistance in providing information that could lead to the arrest of the 27 year old Jeffery King aka “Bongo” of Yellow Elder, and also of Lyon Road off Kemp Road. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of JEFFERY KING is asked to contact Police Emergency at 919 or Crime Stoppers Hotline at 328 - TIPS (New Providence) or 300-8476 (Family Islands)

INFORMATION WILL BE KEPT STRICTLY CONFIDENT
