Bahamas Department of Corrections Officer Arrested for Drug Possession

Nassau, Bahamas - An officer from the Bahamas Department of Corrections is in custody after being arrested for possession of dangerous drugs on Friday 23rd September 2016 at the prison.

According to police reports, shortly after 10:00pm, officers from the Bahamas Department of Corrections conducted a routine search of a male Corrections Officer at the Bahamas Department of Corrections and found a quantity of marijuana in his possession. The police was notified and the officer was handed over to officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit, who took him into custody.

The Corrections Officer is expected to appear in court early next week to be formally charged.
