FIREARM SEIZED
Nassau, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s 2017 Policing Plan, Police took another illegal firearm off the streets of
New Providence on Monday 16th January 2017.
Reports are that shortly after 12:00am, Firearms Tracing and Investigation Unit officers acting on
intelligence went to a bushy area on Grace Avenue, where they uncovered an AK-47 Assault Rifle. No
one was arrested for this discovery.
POLICE SEARCHING FOR SUSPECTS IN ARMED ROBBERY
AND SHOOTING
Police are searching for the suspects responsible for a shooting incident and an armed robbery that
occurred on Sunday 15th January 2017.
In the first incident, shortly before 12:00noon, a man was standing in front of a home on Key West Street,
when he was shot by another man who fled on foot. The man was rushed to hospital where he is detained in
stable condition.
In the second incident, shortly before 8:00pm, a man on Rocky Pine Road in his white Nissan vehicle
license number 324072, when two men armed with handguns approached and robbed him of his vehicle
before speeding off.
Investigations are ongoing.
