Southwestern Division Officers recover BTC stolen copper wire - Police are expected to make an arrest very shortly in the theft of a large amount of Bahamas
Telecommunication Company (BTC) copper wire that occurred on Wednesday 26th February 2014.
According to reports, shortly before 3:00am Officers from the Southwestern Division were on routine patrol
on Rocky Pine Road, when they observed a man loading a huge amount of copper wire into a Toyota
Vehicle license number 216626. The man fled when he saw the officers approaching. Police is searching
for the suspect.
Police conducted enquiries in the area and discovered that the copper wire was stolen from a nearby
Bahamas Telecommunications Company overhead and ground connection.
Southwestern Division Officers make major firearm and ammunition seizure - Four (4) firearms and several hundred rounds of ammunition were seized during an intelligence led
operation conducted by Southwestern Division Officers on Friday 28th February 2014.
No one was arrested in relation to the seizure.
According to reports around 4:00pm, a team of officers from the Southwestern Division acting on
intelligence went to a Park in Flamingo Gardens, where they conducted a search of a backpack and found, 2
handguns, 2 rifles, and over 700 live rounds of ammunition.
Investigations are ongoing.
