POLICE ANTI-CRIME OPERATION TEAM CRACK STOLEN VEHICLE RING

Nassau, Bahamas - Excellent 'textbook' Police Work has resulted in the arrest of three men and two women who police believed are the masterminds behind a stolen vehicle ring that resulted in a number of vehicles being stolen over the past months.

According to reports, shortly before 1:00am on Saturday 14th March 2015, officers assigned to the police anti-crime operations team acting on intelligence went to Arawak Cay, where they arrested an adult male after finding him in possession of a stolen vehicle. The arrest of this suspect led to the arrest of two adult males and two adult females. Police also recovered eight other stolen vehicles from bushes at Gladstone and Soldier Roads.

Investigations are ongoing.

3 STOLEN VEHICLES RECOVERED AND 14 ARRESTED DURING TWO SEPARATE POLICE OPERATIONS

Police are reporting the arrest of 14 persons in separate operations conducted by officers from the Southeastern and Southwestern Divisions on Friday 13th March 2015.

During the operation conducted by Southeastern Division officers, 6 persons were arrested for possession of dangerous drugs and causing harm.

During the operation conducted by Southwestern Division officers, 3 stolen vehicles were recovered and 8 persons were arrested for stolen vehicle and housebreaking.

The Southeastern operation was under the command of Superintendent Maxine Leary-Rolle and the Southwestern operation was under the command of Superintendent Matthew Edgecombe.

HANDGUN AND AMMO SEIZED BY EASTERN DIVISION OFFICERS

According to reports on Friday 13th March 2015, Eastern Division officers acting on intelligence went to a bushy area at Joe Farrington Road, where they uncovered a handgun along with 8 rounds of ammunition. No one was arrested for this discovery.
