Nassau police arrest man for drug possession on Bay St. - 2 arrested after gun, ammo find in Nassau Village

TWO HELD IN CONNECTION WITH GUN, AMMO FIND IN NASSAU VILLAGE

Nassau, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2017, Mobile Division officers seized a handgun and a quantity of ammunition after intercepting a car in Nassau Village on Friday 24th February 2017.

Reports are that about 6:00pm, Mobile Division officers were conducting an operation on the Taylor Street, Nassau Village, when a motorcar occupied by two adult males was intercepted.

The vehicle was subsequently searched and a 9 – millimeter handgun with 23 live rounds of ammunition was found.

The two suspects were subsequently taken into custody.

MAN ARRESTED BY WESTERN DIVISION OFFICERS FOR DRUG POSSESSION

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2017, Western Division officers took a man into custody for drug possession on Friday 24th February 2017.

According to reports, around 9:30am, Western Division officers were on routine patrol on West Bay Street, where a man was seen acting in a manner that aroused their suspicions of him. He was accosted, searched and a quantity of marijuana was found in his possession. The man was subsequently taken into custody in connection with the find.
