Nassau police foil stabbing attack, suspect shot - Beauty salon armed robbery

POLICE FOILED STABBING ATTACK, SUSPECT SHOT

Nassau, Bahamas - According to reports, around 11:30am on Saturday 25th July 2015, police were on patrol in the area of a shipping company located at western New Providence, when they observed a man attempting to stab another man with a screwdriver. At the call of the victim, police intervened and ordered the suspect to drop the screwdriver. The suspect refused to do so and began to violently advance towards the officers with the screwdriver. The officers in fear of their lives and for the safety of the victim, shot the suspect once to the body. The suspect was transported to hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN SOLVING BEAUTY SALON ARMED ROBBERY

POLICE is asking for the public’s assistance in solving an armed robbery that occurred on Saturday 25th July 2015.

According to reports, shortly before 5:00pm, two men armed with handguns entered a beauty salon located on Market Street and Coconut Grove Avenue, where they robbed several patrons of an undisclosed amount of cash and cell phones before fleeing on foot.

Investigations are ongoing.
