Nassau police investigating 2 separate shootings leaving 2 males in hospital

**ANDROS POLICE CONDUCT ROAD CHECKS**

In keeping with the Commissioner of Police 2012 Policing Plan “Enforcing the Rules of the Road”, officers of the Andros District, conducted road checks. The road checks were conducted on Monday 26th November, 2012 and resulted in ten(10) drivers being cited.Some of the offences for which drivers were cited include: speeding, tinted windows and no front license plate attached to the vehicle.

**POLICE ARREST ROBBERY SUSPECTS**

Police are questioning a 47 year old male of Cumberbatch Alley in connection with a recent robbery. The incident reportedly occurred around 8:25 am on Thursday 29th November, 2012.According to police reports a man was walking on Mount Royal Avenue when he was approached by two (2) men who robbed him of his jewelry. Officers of the Northeastern Division acting on information went to Montrose Avenue where they arrested the suspect.The second male is actively being sought by police. Investigations continue.

**POLICE INVESTIGATE SHOOTINGS**

Police are investigating two (2) separate shootings that have left two (2) males in hospital. According to reports, both incidents occurred on Thursday 29th November, 2012.The first incident reportedly occurred around 1:30 am and a resulted in a 20 year old male of Montell Heights being shot by police to the buttocks and legs.According to reports, police were responding to a complaint of gunshots at Montell Heights, when the incident occurred.The suspect was taken to hospital where he is detained in stable condition and in police custody.

The second incident reportedly occurred shortly after 1:00 pm at Dunmore Lane, located between Market Street and Baillou Hill Road. Preliminary reports indicate that the victim, a 26 year old male of Hay Street, was driving a burgundy Maxima through Dunmore Lane when he heard gunshots and realized that he was shot to the head.The victim was taken to hospital where he is detained in stable condition.Four males’ ages, 16, 20, 22, and 21 years are being questioned by police in connection with this incident. Active investigations continue.

**POLICE MAKE FIREARM ARREST**

Police arrested a 24 year old male of Vesey Street after he was found in possession of an imitation firearm. Officers of the Mobile Division arrested the man around 8:00 pm on Thursday 29th November, 2012 at Glinton Square off Lewis Street. Active police investigations continue.
