Nassau police report 2 shootings and 2 stabbings overnight

Nassau, Bahamas - Police need the public’s help in solving two overnight shooting incidents.

In the first incident, a 51yr old male of Blue Hill Road reported that sometime around 12:55am while at Poincianna Drive, he was accosted by a lone male, who produced a firearm and demanded cash. A struggle ensued and the assailant shot him once to the knee before making good his escape.

In the second incident, a 28yr old male resident of Augusta Street reported that sometime around 1:00am, he was at a local night club on Poincianna Avenue, along with a female companion when he encountered a female from a former relationship with another male. This resulted in a confrontation and the male produced a handgun and discharged several shots at him hitting him once in the thigh. EMS also responded to the scene and transported the victim to PMH to seek medical attention.

POLICE INVESTIGATE STABBING INCIDENTS

Police also need the public’s help in solving two overnight stabbing incidents.

In the first incident, a 59 yr old male of Apache Alley reported that while closing his establishment, he was confronted by a lone male, who attacked him and stabbed him multiple times about the body. Police in the area responded and took a 39yr old male resident of Kemp Road into custody.

In the second incident, a 37yr old male resident of Providence Avenue reported that he was at a night club on Providence Avenue with a female friend when another male approached the female seeking to dance. This resulted in an argument and the assailant stabbed the male multiple times about the body.

POLICE are appealing to anyone with information regarding any crime, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Islands)
