RBPF: Illegal firearms recovered

The enduring and dedicated work of the men and women of the Royal Bahamas Police Force has led to two illegal firearms being recovered from the streets of New Providence and Eleuthera. 

In the first incident, shortly before 11:00pm, Monday, 23rd April, 2018 Drug Enforcement Officers while on routine patrol on Lightbourn Avenue, Rock Crusher, observed a group of men standing on the side of the street, acting in a suspicious manner. As the officers approached, the men ran, making good their escape. The officers conducted a search of the immediate area and recovered a 9 millimeter Luger pistol.

In the second incident, shortly after 9:00am, Tuesday, 24th April, 2018 a concerned citizen went into the Harbour Island Police Station, Eleuthera Division and handed over to an officer a .38 revolver and 26 rounds of ammunition and reported finding same at the rear of a home. 

No arrest were made in these incidents. Investigations are ongoing.

PREVENTION CRIME TIP: TAKE A STAND AGAINST ILLEGAL FIREARMS BY COOPERATING WITH THE POLICE IN PROVIDING INFORMATION REGARDING THE WHEREABOUTS OF ANY ILLEGAL FIREARM.
