 17 ARRESTED DURING POLICE ANTI-CRIME OPERATION
Nassau, Bahamas - POLICE are reporting the arrest of 17 persons for dangerous drugs, firearms, armed robbery, shop breaking and outstanding court warrants, as their anti-crime operation continued last night.
The operation which is consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, targeted persons involved in criminal activities, such as drugs and firearms, persons wanted for various criminal offences,prolific offenders and persons wanted for outstanding criminal warrants.
The operation was under the command of Superintendents Clayton Fernander and Theophilus Cunningham.
SHOTGUN RECOVERED AND 14 ARRESTED DURING SOUTHWESTERN DIVISION OPERATION
Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, Southwestern Division officers conducted an operation in the division on Friday 23rd January 2015 that targeted persons wanted for various criminal offences.
The operation resulted in the arrest of 14 persons for dangerous drugs, housebreaking and outstanding criminal warrants.
Additionally, during the operation officers from the Eastern Division acting on intelligence went to Montgomery Avenue off Carmichael Road where they uncovered an unlicensed shotgun.
The operation was under the command of Superintendent Matthew Edgecombe.
EASTERN DIVISION OFFICERS RECOVER HANDGUN
According to reports, around 1:30pm on Friday 23rd January 2015, officers from the Eastern Division acting on intelligence went to Yamacraw Hill Road where they uncovered a handgun along with 6 rounds of ammunition.
Not arrests were made in relation to this discovery.
