RBPF Nassau: 2-Day Islandwide anti-crime operation nets 43 arrests and 325 citations

Nassau, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2014, police conducted an island wide anti -crime operation that saw large contingents of police officers from the Uniform Divisions under the command of Assistant Commissioners Leon Bethel fan out across New Providence between Monday and Tuesday of this week.

During the operation police targeted, Persons involved in criminal activities, such and Drugs and Firearms, Persons wanted for various criminal offences, Prolific Offenders, Persons wanted for Outstanding Court Warrants and Persons in Breach of the Traffic Laws.

The two-day operation resulted in 43 persons arrested for a number of serious and minor offences. Additionally, 325 drivers cited for various traffic violations.

At the end of the operation Assistant Commissioner Bethel commended the officers for their professionalism and excellent teamwork, which led to the successful operation.

POLICE are appealing to anyone with information regarding any crime, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Islands)
